Baseline Survey to Understand the Causes and Prevalence of Knowledge, Attitude and Practices (KAP) On Gender Based Violence and Harassment among the Community Forest User Groups and their Networks, especially with Environmental Human Rights Defenders

Client: Dan Church Aid (DCA)

This baseline research report examines the intersection of community forestry, gender dynamics, and GBV as perceived by participants in FGDs. The study underscores a robust understanding among participants regarding the complexities involved in community forestry initiatives. Participants recognized that while these programs can empower women through economic opportunities and enhanced decision-making roles, they also entail risks, particularly an increased vulnerability to GBV when traditional power structures are disrupted.
