Client: Mercy Corps
Duration: February to March 2021
Thematic areas: GESI, Child Protection
The GESI assessment looked into how the project incorporated GESI and to what extent the social barriers were addressed by the project. Moreover, the assessment informed the project for future actions by providing actionable recommendations for project stakeholders, particularly schools and local government. The assessment was based on Mercy Corps’s six GESI domains (roles and responsibility, access, decision making, time and space, enabling environment, gender-based violence) and FCDO’s assigned GESI status (GESI – absent, exploitative, unresponsive, accommodating, and transformative) across different project stakeholders for gender and social inclusion separately.
